Frequently Asked Questions
What is your philosophy?
I believe in photography that focuses on real and meaninful moments. Trends quickly fade away, while photographs of true emotions always last.
WHat sets you apart?
I work to build a relationship with you as a couple, and promise to be in charge of those minor details so that you can relax and enjoy your wedding day. Not only do I provide you with beautiful photographs, but I'm also with you every step of the way in figuring out the logistics.
HOw long have you been photographing Weddings?
I have been photographing weddings professionally since 2008 and portraits since 2006. I've been tinkering with photographs since 1997.
Do you shoot film?
I started with film and still enjoy shooting film very much. I love everything about the process. Collection one includes both digital + film photography, but film can be added to the other collections as well, just inquire for a quote.
HOW MANY IMAGES WILL WE RECEIVE?
For a typical 10 hour wedding day you'll receive anywhere from 700 - 1000 high resolution, edited images.
Will we be able to make our own prints or Album?
I offer professional, full service album design, along with enlargements and other products. However, you can certainly make your own prints or build your own album if you choose. I'll be happy to recommend consumer services that I like and trust.
DO YOU RECOMMEND AN ENGAGEMENT SESSION?
Absolutely. It's the perfect time for us to get to know one another more and it's also a great way to celebrate your upcoming wedding. The sky's the limit when it comes to your engagement session, and I work with you every step of the way to pick a setting, give guidance on choice of wardrobe, and arrange permits if needed.
Can I Swap out the engagement session in my collection for something else?
Not every couple wants an engagement session and I can certainly understand that! You can choose not to have an engagement session, but the session is complimentary for Collection One and Collection Two, and for that reason it is not interchangeable or priced out for a reduced rate.
Do you accept a shot list?
Every wedding is different and if I were to accept a shot list, or a list describing how moments should be seen, it would 1) impede creativity, and 2) take the uniqueness out of your wedding photographs. For that reason, I accept only a list of formal family portraits so that you can relax while I take care of the rest.
Do you have back ups and liability insurance?
I carry multiple back up cameras and other related gear. A certificate of liability can be furnished at your venue's request.
What do you think about videography?
Be sure to book a videographer that matches your style, just like you would your photographer. I would be happy to chat with your videographer if you decide to book one, so that we can work as a team and coordinate what works best for you.
Have you worked at my venue before?
We are in a bustling urban region with a variety of venue options, so there is a chance that I have not worked at your venue before. However, being a seasoned professional, that does not prevent me at all from being able to take great images at your wedding. Often, if I haven't worked at a venue before, I will scout before-hand if the location is within a reasonable distance. If your wedding requires an overnight stay, I would arrive early on the day(s) before to study the various areas available for photographs.
Where can I read your reviews?
are you LGBTQ Friendly?
I'm so sorry that in this day and age you even have to ask. Absolutely, I am excited to work with clients in the LGBTQ community. I love diversity and I would love to shoot your wedding.
Do you travel? Is there a travel Fee?
Yes, I do travel, and distance does not prevent me from being available to document your wedding day. In fact, I love traveling for weddings. If your wedding location is outside of a 2 hour drive, there may be a nominal travel fee. If your wedding requires flying or an overnight stay, we can discuss a fee that will cover the basics.
Are we a good fit?
If you love real moments and believe in a mindful and creative approach, contact me, I would love to chat more!
How do we reserve our date?
First we have a consultation, via phone, skype, or in person, where I learn a little bit more about you and your wedding. After that, I will prepare a wedding agreement for you to review and sign, and 50% of your total is due as a retainer to secure your date. I accept Venmo, Chase Quick Pay, or Check. Once the retainer and signed agreement are received, your date is booked. The balance is then due 4 weeks prior to your wedding date.
