In my early days as a photographer, digital cameras were still a thing of the future. I very much loved the dark room, the smell of film, and the mechanics of a manual camera. I missed it very much as things went digital and film seemed to fade away. But, as it turned out, film had a revival, and it felt like coming home.
Now, I'm not here to argue--"Which is better- film vs. digital?" or to lament that for some, it's just a fad. I built my career on digital photography, and still primarily shoot digital.
I'm just here to say that film is a medium that I absolutely love, as an artist. Film makes me pause, film makes me feel, and the photographs themselves, to me, are just surreal. I love how moments on film just seem, more timeless.
Film and the process behind it makes me feel more connected to the art of photography, and that in itself is deeply rewarding.
So, a few months ago I decided to incorporate film into every wedding day. If you're looking for a photographer in the NJ, NYC area that shoots both digital and film, please, don't hesitate to contact me.
